Tradehouse Central Ballincollig have done it. We have been crowned winners of the Men’s Division One along with promotion to the 2020/21 Super League!
The lads were in fine form at home Saturday afternoon during this momentous occasion, as the home crowd packed the hall wanting to see their team take on EJ Sligo All-Stars and be crowned league champions. Ballincollig were not fazed by the occasion as they stormed out the gates as they were led by Andre Nation and Ciaran O’Sullivan and opened a 54-40-point half time lead. Sligo tried to battle back but the momentum and the occasion was with Ballincollig as they ran out 94-67 winners. It’s the first time in quarter of a century a Cork club outside Neptune and Demons has reached the top tier of Irish basketball. A huge thank you to all those that were there on Saturday and those that continue to support the club. It was a day to remember and it couldn’t be done without supporters, sponsors, teams, coaches, managers, officials, refs, kids, parents, volunteers and everyone who contributes to their success
